Projects per year
Elise Steward is an MPhil student at the University of Strathclyde investigating the potential for hydrogen furnaces to contribute to the decarbonisation and sustainable transition of the steel industry across Scotland and Ontario, Canada. Elise's interests concern the barriers, enablers and drivers of technology transitions to inform a policy-facing model of the decision ecosystem.
This is cross-disciplinary and international research and as such, Elise is working alongside a network of researchers at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Waterloo, Canada. The supervisory team include Prof John Quigley (Management Science, Strathclyde Business School), Dr Jen Roberts (Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering) and Dr Andrew Sherlock (National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland).
Elise has an academic background which focuses on accounting and financial management. Prior learning is largely concentrated on ecological economics, sustainable finance and international financial reporting. Research interests concern policy making and sustainable transitions in industry, relating to net-zero targets.
