Strategy And Organisation

Organisational unit: Department

Organisation profile

The Department of Stratgy and Organistion is a lively, collaborative, and internationally respected community of scholars whose research centres on the processes and practices of organisation and management.

The human actions that constitute practice underpin much of our work, both as a theoretical construct and as a methodological orientation. We are interested in the continuity of past, present and future as managers make sense of their organisations, learn about the practices of management, navigate organisational change, and make strategies for the future. Culture, language, knowledge and work are important theoretical lenses that we use to engage with a wide variety of managerial issues such as leadership, innovation, and the international dimensions of business. We are committed to engaged scholarship in locations ranging from SMEs to MNEs, from new startups to the organisations of antiquity, spanning the public, private and voluntary sectors, and crossing many different industries and professions.
