My research track record and interests are in the areas of

  • composite materilas-dynamics and vibrations
  • structural dynamics and  vibration-based health monitoring
  • wave propagation in structures
  • inverse problems and methods in dynamics
  • machine condition monitoring

Academic / Professional qualifications

Research and scholarship.  My recent research track record is in structural dynamics and structural and machinery vibration-based health monitoring, vibrations of structures made of composites, nonlinear dynamics and signal processing methods.

The total number of my publications is over 105.  During the last eight years (since 2002) I have published forty three papers in leading international journals 32 of which are in collaboration with international co-authors.

I currently hold an RSE/Scottish Government Research Fellowship on “Modeling the vibration of structures made of composite materials”.

 I have led, managed and worked on several big funded projects related to structural integrity assessment and health monitoring, structural dynamics.

I am on the editorial boards of two international journals.

I have been invited to sit on the Scientific Committees of more than 15 International Conferences. I have given a number of invited seminars and organized conference  sessions. I am currently on the Scientific Committees of the next DAMAS International Conference in Oxford 2011, and the ENOC 2011, Rome, Italy.

 

Teaching and student support.  I am currently a reader at the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow UK). I have over 20 years (10 years in UK) experience of teaching in a number of universities at both under-graduate and postgraduate level.
