Personal Statement

My research focuses on queer identities in children's literature from a human rights perspective. Prior to becoming a PhD student, I practiced law for ten years and am thus particularly interested in children's and queer rights. I am also a published author of short stories and recently joined the journal International Research in Children's Literature as its new Executive Editor (for the next several months, I am shadowing the current Executive Editor).
