Panagiotis Papadopoulos
Lecturer A
Personal Statement
I have joined the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of the University of Strathclyde in 2017, as a Lecturer. My area of expertise is power system stability and dynamics under increased uncertainty. I am focusing on the challenges and opportunities arising due to the integration of new technologies, such as renewable generation and technologies introduced in the smart grid concept. I am also interested in power system applications of data analytics and machine learning to tackle complex problems related to power system stability.
Research Interests
- Power Systems stability and dynamics.
- Impact of non-synchronous, power electronic interfaced units.
- Probabilistic stability assessment of power systems with increased uncertainty.
- Online Dynamic Security Assessment.
- Application of data analytics and machine learning in power systems.
Academic / Professional qualifications
I am a member of the IEEE UK and Ireland, Power and Energy Chapter committee and also an advisor of the IEEE joint IAS, PELS and PES student branch of the University of Strathclyde.
